The Board of Vocational Education was originally established in 1917 to oversee the work of the Dept. of Vocational Education. In 1937, the Division of Vocation Rehabilitation was added to the duties of the agency. The board was abolished in 1969 and the duties were divided in to the Dept. of Social and Rehabilitation services and the State Dept. of Education, Vocational Education.
